Tahiti tourisme

I wanted to learn more about Tahiti and French Polynesia so I went along to Park Plaza Westminster Bridge to their trade promotion

I loved the Park Plaza, a wonderful piece of modern architecture and in a prime site near the houses of parliament. The interior design is really imaginative and the flowers were beautiful.

The buffet was excellent with lots of fish and vegetarian choice so plenty to eat. I couldn’t help over indulging with so much to choose from

Tahiti looks amazing with a very high standard of accommodation, beautiful beaches and amazing scenery. Tahiti consists of 5 archipelagoes spreading over a vast area of the Pacific . The easiest to get to and with the largest number of visitors are the Society islands group where you can find Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Marquesas are the northernmost and the smaller groups Tuamotu, Gambier and Austral. The Tahitian islands cover a vast area

Cruising is another lovely way of visiting the islands and there are man of them with different lengths so even if your time is limited you can still do a 3 or 4 day cruise

The capital is Papeete and the best connections from Europe are through Los Angeles so an ESTA is required. Flights take around 22 hours. Tahiti is 10 hours behind the UK. The language is essentially French but English is widely spoken

As it is such a long flight, I would recommend a minimum of weeks and spread over more than one of the islands, spending a day or two in Papeete to recover from the flight and then to relax in at least one of the other islands or for a complete change of scenery spend some time in Marquesas or Tuamotu for a totally different experience

Representatives from Tahiti were Hilton who have two hotels in Bora Bora and one in Moorea, Intercontinental with their portfolio of three in Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Sofitel who also have three in the same islands, South Pacific Management, formerly Pearl Resorts wuith six hotels on the islands. Cruises were represented by Tahiti Yacht Charter and Aranui
