Local travel professional works as part of company where 94% love their job

 

  • 93% would rate their job satisfaction as high/very high
  • 93% would recommend being a Travel Counsellor to a former colleague
  • 98%  would not return to working on the high street

 

Cathie O’Dea, West London based based travel advisor runs her own travel business as part of the UK’s leading independent travel company Travel Counsellors which has just published a survey* revealing the level of job satisfaction within the business.

 

The independent travel company has reported an exceptionally positive response to their recent internal job satisfaction survey – 98% love being a Travel Counsellor. The results are in contrast to a poll run by Progressive Personnel which revealed that people that work in the UK travel and tourism industry are the most dissatisfied with their job.

 

I love being a Travel Counsellor and this really helps me to deliver the best possible customer service.  I’m not surprised that I, along with other Travel Counsellors in the UK, buck the trend in the overall travel industry.  Travel Counsellors are quite unique in how we work and in the service we all deliver.

 

The survey further revealed that 93% of Travel Counsellors said they were satisfied/very satisfied with their job.  Interestingly 98% of Travel Counsellors said they would not return to working on the high street given the opportunity.

 

I wouldn’t go back to the high street now I’ve experienced life as a Travel Counsellor. I can give truly great customer service because I don’t have any of the restrictions present at a high street chain.  There’s such flexibility and this is why I think so many of us are content.

 

 

Amid the recent gloom and doom in the travel industry it’s fantastic to have something positive to shout about.  I want to reassure customers that there is good news in the travel industry and personal advisors like me are here to stay.

 

The travel company which has reported record sales for the year so far regards their Travel Counsellors’ job happiness as a top priority and offers extensive support from the 200 strong head office in Bolton.  Although each Travel Counsellor runs their own business from home, they are fully connected to a huge support network of 750 UK and 450 overseas agents.
