The Mauritius promotion was sponsored by Mauritius Tourism and Air Mauritius and organised by Hills Balfour Synergy at Waldorf Hilton in Aldwych. This is one of my favourite venues as it is easy to get to from Temple, Holborn, Covent Garden or Embankment and it is very spacious to allow lots of room for networking and dining.
I met many other Travel Counsellors as well as many other friends in the travel industry, all of keen to update on recent developments on the island.
The evening began with a display of Sega, a traditional Mauritian dance in colourful costumes before our 7 minute long sessions with hoteliers from all over Mauritius from 3* to 5*
Thre are a few new hotels in Mauritius and many have undergone a complete change of branding or total refurbishment. I was so pleased that I went to this promotion as so much has changed recently.
The newest hotel within the Sun Resorts group will be the Ambre which will open in September as a 4* family hotel. The follows the opening last year of Long Beach which is a lively and contemporary 5* hotel on the East Coast. Also within the group are classic Le Touessrok, La Pirogue and Sugar Beach.
One of Mauritius largest hotel groups, the Naiade has been completely relaunched as Lux Island Resorts giving their hotels a completely fresh new look. If you would like to know more aboout this wonderful island that is waiting to welcome you with open arms, there are so many fantastic deals for honeymoon couples, families, free nights and off season offers. Mauritius is peerceived as being expensive but in fact it represents excellent value compared to a similar standard many other destinations. I can certainly recommend it as one of mhy top destinations
I was lucky enough to visit Mauritius two years ago and I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The standard of accommodation, service and cuisine is outstanding. Food is a delicious mix of French and Creole with vegetarian being no problem. It is suitable for both couples and families and there is plenty to do. There are stunning beaches, an interesting mix of cultures, beautiful gardens, golf, diving, activity, great shopping
