Saint Lucia Travel Challenge

Saint Lucia Travel Challenge was held at Ruby Blue near Leicester Square. This is essentially a Karaoke Bar but Saint Lucia had hired the Balcony Bar upstairs as a private function room and the noise didn’t carry up there at all.

It is a nice size and shape for a travel venue with a bar in one corner, enough room for the steel band and plenty of tables and chairs. plenty of finger food was bought in at regular intervals and there was enough choice of meat, fish and vegetables to suit all out tastes

We had to group into teams of maximum three people. We were going to call ourselves Calypso Queens but we were joined by Giovanni so we changed our team name to The Pitons, not very original since three teams had variations on the Piton theme

At first, the questions were very easy but they did get a lot harder as we got into the second round with a lot of sport questions

First of all we had some images from St Lucia and and learnt of the latest developments from four mid range properties in St Lucia

Smugglers Cove, now independent 4* all inclusive, ideal for families, catering from newborn to teenagers. Smugglers Cove is situated in the north of the island.

Rex Resorts has two properties in St Lucia, next door to each other on a beautiful stretch of beach at Reduit Beach near Rodney Bay. St Lucian is the 3* property and Royal St Lucian is the more exclusive 4* all suite property,.

Bay Resorts have three properties in lively Rodney Bay, Bay Resort and Spa, Bay Hogtel and Bay Gardens. Staying in any one of these entitles you to use the facilites of the others. Bay Gardens is furhest from the beach so they have a regular shuttle bus if it is too hot for the short walk

Coconut Bay is a unique property because it is a property of two halves, Harmony rooms are for adults only and the Splash wing is family heaven and caters from newborn to teenagers. There is even a Lazy River. All the rooms have recently been refurbished in much softer colours. It is an all inclusive 4* property only 5 minutes from Hewanorra airport making it a great choice for families because of the short transfer. It is also ideal for weddings because the bride and groom can stay in the adult wing and the rest of the family can stay in the Splash Wing.

BA now have daily flights to St Lucia and Virgin fly there as well, so it is really easy to get there. The roads have improved so even transfers to the north can be done in 90 minutes

There are many activities available including golf, hiking, diving, zip lining, canopy tours, horseriding, scuba and snuba so there really is something for everybody in St Lucia from basic no frills properties to really high end there is also a solution for every budget

If you are interested in visiting this beautiful island for honeymoons, weddings, family or activity holidays please call me for more information and to book 0845 058 7458
