This evening I went to the Grand Connaught Rooms in Holborn for TTG on tour. Although Holborn is in theory really easy to get to, tonight Arsenal are playing so Holborn station was closed. This brings back memories of the times I worked in Holborn and the station closed frequently. Anyway I had to walk from Tottenham Court Road. As I arrived and sipped my first glass of wine, the fire bell rang so we began the evening in total confusion on the pavement. that was quickly sorted by three firemen
Once the evening began, it was well organised and actually finished on time. The format was speed dating but with the food in the middle which was a great idea, less tiring and this meant I was more refreshed and interested for the second bit.
The food and beverages were supplied by Seaworld Florida.
Qatar Airways are a 5 star airline with a fast expanding network from its hub in Doha. They are the only airport with a dedicated business and first terminal. For economy passengers legroom is generous and the Oryx lounge in Doha is available at a reasonable cost, although connections are often very short with a minimum of only half an hour required and 42 flights a week between Doha and the UK
Several hotel groups were represented Iberostar who have recently upgraded their hotels and added Budapest which will be their first city hotel, Barcelo a Spanish chain with many hotels worldwide including 12 in the UK. AM Resorts which cover Dreams,Secrets and Zoetry in Mexico, Dom Rep and Jamaica and El Dorado adult only resorts and Azul by Karisma family resots
Tunisia has bounced back beyond all expectations. There is a new charter airport which has shaved almost an hour off the transfer time to Hammamet
Getting round a destination is a lot easier with a car saving money on transfers and excursions and seeing places in your own time and at your own pace. Avis is a household name and deservedly so. They have cars in over 6,000 destinations and their cars are usually under 6 months old . This year they are very competitive on price too
Once you are in a resort there is plenty to see and do and it is often better to buy excursions and passes in advance and this is definitely true with Florida, there are much better deals in the Uk and you can avoid tge queues as well. and Dosomethingdiffetent can arrange these. This is a company I often use even for my own attractions and tours at better prices than I could get locally. I have used them for Mauritius and New Zealand
