This is always a big challenge from finding flights with decent times to finding hotels with a creche
Funnily enough one of the most generous for luggage allowance for babies is easyjet who will allow two items for instance a pushchair and a travel cot and their hand luggage allowance is also very generous so this should allow you to take all the baby parephenalia that you need .
Thomson and Thomas Cook will generally seat families near the front whether you pay extra for this service or not. Thomas Cook have a very small hand luggage allowance of only 6 kilos and they also tend to have small seats so this may be the least comfortable, not too bad if you are going to France, Spain or Balearics as these are less than 2 hours but by the time you arrive in Turkey or Egypt after having a baby on your lap on a cramped seat for 5 hours it will be very uncomortable
I would suggest travelling in the afternoon or evening when they are already starting to get tired and more likely to sleep properly on arrival. Travelling at 6am is the most problematic as this involves 4am check in.
It is also worth considering how long the transfer is at the other end. By the time you reach destination the baby will be in an unfamiliar and hot environment, which looks and smells different and where they cannot understand the language. They are likely to be tired, hungry and uncomfortable so the quicker you can get to the hotel the easier it will be
Look for hotels that have a separate children’s pool, free cots (otherwise they can be expensive) early suppers and in a flat area free from cobbles. Very few hotels offer creche or babysitting and there will usually be a charge for this, typically around £25 a session, some only offer this facility in high season. Even though the charges seem high it is worth looking for as many of these facilities as possible
Two hotels in Europe that are particularly good for families with very small children are Aquila Rithymna Beach in Crete This hotel currently has some good special offers and Le Meridien in Limassol which has Penguin Village and a separate restaurant and this often has free half board offers especially in the winter . Two holiday companies which have a few hotels with proper creche facilities are Mark Warner and ClubMed
